3SAE End Face Inspection System

The Endface Inspection Station (EFI) is a fiber inspection tool that inspects the end-face of a fiber. The EFI is primarily used to assist in PM splicing, but can also be used as a tool for inspecting fiber end-faces after fiber preparation such as cleaving or polishing.

The EFI Control software features a sophisticated GUI, in conjunction with a high-magnification 5 MP telecentric camera, providing detailed imaging of the end of a fiber.

In addition to automatic detection of panda fibers, the EFI also features manual control to manipulate the overlay of the left and right fiber images. This feature allows the manual adjustment of fibers and is useful for unique internal structures commonly found in PCF or other custom structured fibers.

The EFI Control software requires use of a PC and is designed for interface with Fitel S183PM Series II and S184PM fusion splicers. PC and fusion splicers must be purchased separately.
